Gearing up for march 3 assembly elections, around 44 persons  from various parties and independents on Thursday filed their nominations. Heavyweight politicians from congress, including Digambar kamat, filed their nominations, while BJP  candidates, including Manohar Parrikar, also filed their nominations. Besides national and regional parties,  independent candidates too filed their nominations,  who include rebels from the congress, namely Naresh Sawal and Rudolf Fernandes.
